Musa (AS) was living with important people because the Pharaoh had adopted him. One day, he saw two men fighting – one was from his group and the other was an enemy. By accident, he ended up killing the man while trying to stop the fight. People were scared of him and called him a bad ruler.
To stay safe, a man warned Musa (AS) that important people were planning to kill him. He listened to the advice and ran away to a city called Madyan. There, he saw a lot of people at a well, giving water to their animals. Two women were having trouble with their flock, so Musa (AS) went to them and asked what was wrong.
The women explained that their father was too old to take care of the flock, and they didn’t want to be around other shepherds, maybe because they were women. They waited until the other shepherds left before going to the well.
Musa (AS) was tired from his journey, but he helped the women by watering their sheep himself. It took a while, but when he finished, he went to rest in some shade.
Musa (AS) was always running away, very tired, and had not eaten anything for seven days. Despite feeling worn out and bad about what he had done, he wanted to make up for it by doing good things. When he saw the two women having trouble with their flock, he felt like Allah SWT was giving him a chance to do good. As he went to rest in the shade, he prayed: “My Lord! I am in need of whatever good you send down for me.”
We can learn from this that Musa (AS) always wanted to help people and do good, even when he was very tired and had made a mistake. By helping the women with their flock, he was able to feel better and be happy again.
